In the past twelve months, the State Government carried out a planning study for the Garden City traffic area. The $400,000 study was a commitment of the previous LNP Government.
In this year’s state budget, yet another planning study was announced. I welcome any progress on important road projects, but the community has not even been given any information about the first planning study.
This area has been a trouble spot for many years. I am currently seeking more information from the Government about what is being considered.
Brisbane City Council has already pledged funds to remove a set of lights on Kessels Road, a project which would improve traffic flow for motorists and improve access for local residents.
The State Labor Government is yet to commit to funding its share of this important project.
Locals are sick of talk – time for action!
